Well-Child
Check-ups

Regular reviews when your child is well are the most powerful preventive care there is: growth, vaccines, development and guidance, all in one visit.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Chitrakshi Tewari, MD (Paediatrics)

A well-child check-up is a routine visit when your child is healthy, to track growth, keep vaccinations on schedule, screen development and answer your questions. Catching issues early on a growth chart or milestone checklist makes them far easier to manage. Dr. Chitrakshi Tewari offers online well-child consultations with growth monitoring, IAP vaccination planning and developmental reviews across India.

Why well visits matter even when nothing is wrong

The best paediatric care happens before problems appear. A well-child visit tracks growth on standard WHO charts, keeps vaccinations on schedule, screens development, and gives you a dedicated space to ask everything that has collected since the last visit. Problems caught on a growth chart or a milestone checklist are almost always easier to treat early.

What each check-up covers

Growth plotted on WHO / IAP charts and explained in plain language
Vaccination review and catch-up planning (IAP schedule)
Developmental milestone screening for age
Nutrition, sleep, screen time and behaviour guidance
Time for every question you've been saving up
A written summary and plan after each visit

How the online format works

You share your child's weight, height and vaccination record before the call. During the video consultation we plot growth, review milestones together, plan upcoming vaccines using the IAP immunisation schedule, and discuss feeding, sleep, screens and behaviour. You receive a written summary and an updated plan after every visit.

Recommended rhythm

Frequent visits in the first year (aligned with vaccine visits), then roughly every 3 to 6 months through early childhood, and yearly for school-age children and teens, in line with paediatric guidance such as the AAP's Bright Futures schedule.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions parents ask

Every child is different. If your question is not answered here, ask it in a consultation, that is exactly what they are for.

We review your child's growth on standard charts, check that vaccinations are on schedule, screen development for their age, and discuss feeding, sleep, behaviour and safety. It is also your time to ask anything on your mind. You receive a written summary and plan afterwards.
Visits are most frequent in the first year, usually alongside vaccination visits, then roughly every three to six months in early childhood, and yearly for school-age children and teens. Children with ongoing conditions benefit from more frequent reviews.
Because the best paediatric care is preventive. Well visits catch growth, developmental, vision or hearing issues early, keep vaccines on track, and give you trusted answers before small worries grow. Healthy visits are an investment, not an afterthought.
Yes. With a home weighing scale and a simple height measurement, growth can be plotted accurately, development screened, and vaccines planned by video. Dr. Chitrakshi Tewari runs online well-child consultations across India, and will advise if an in-person check is ever needed.
In the first year, well visits usually align with immunisation visits. From age one to five, every 3 to 6 months is a good rhythm; after that, once a year. Children with ongoing conditions benefit from more frequent reviews.
Yes. With a home weighing scale and a simple height measurement (I'll show you exactly how), measurements can be plotted accurately on standard charts. The trend across visits is what matters, and that works very well remotely.
Vaccines themselves are given at a clinic or hospital near you, but I plan the schedule, advise which brands or combinations are appropriate, arrange catch-up plans for missed doses, and answer safety questions so you go in confident.
